BREAKING THE ICE

Today I went to the gym for the first time in a long time. I did not go to my *usual* gym, because that gym no longer exists since the tornado four weeks ago. But I went to the gym at the Student Rec Center. I was going to cancel that gym membership because I didn’t need two, but now of course I only have one gym, and I figure as long as I actually USE it, it’s worth it, until the other one, Planet Fitness, is up and running again. (I just checked their website, and there’s no news about it yet.)

But it was good to spend at least a little bit of time exercising today. I’m hoping I can get back in the habit. And I’m also hoping I can get back in the habit of writing something in this journal every day. I know I’ve been really bad about writing here, but it’s really just a matter of being in the HABIT of doing something.

Once again, I reflect that bad habits are so hard to break, and good habits so hard to establish. Why does it have to be that way?
