This past week Boogie has been sick and we had to take him to the vet. Because of this, I took off work three afternoons, and each afternoon, I went to lunch at our local McDonald’s, because they are offering the Big Mac for 99-cents. It’s cheap, and it’s easy, and I didn’t have to think about food, I just needed to eat it so I could get on my way to the vet.
Boogie is feeling better now, but after having three Big Mac’s this week, I felt certain I was going to see the number on the scale go up…way up! But lo and behold, this morning, I was at my lowest weight yet! How did that happen? Are Big Macs a secret diet food?
No, actually, I think it’s more likely that worrying about my little man took its toll on me. I probably didn’t eat right all week long, and the Big Macs were counteracted by other foods I ate or didn’t eat, and waking up at 2:30 in the morning, worrying. I think worrying can burn a lot of calories. I wouldn’t recommend it as a diet strategy, but I think perhaps it does work.
