NEWS AND STUFF

I realize I really haven’t been posting much here except my weight, and even then, it’s JUST my weight, usually, and no thoughts on what’s going on in my life. So I think I should take at least a brief moment to do an update.

After the wedding, all is well, except I’m feeling a little tired out. Is it reactive to all the excitement before the wedding, all the planning, all the shopping? Anti-climatic? Or does it have anything to do with the fact that most nights we stay up till almost midnight, watching Jay Leno? (Love Jay!) Then, waking up at 6 or 6:30, so not always a lot of sleep. Also, it’s been a bit CRAZY at work lately. So, lots of pressures piling up.

Okay, how about this? Russ has turned me into a football fan, and the last two weeks, Alabama has lost! I don’t know which is more exhausting, seeing your team lose…or seeing them win! BOTH are exhausting. Football is exhausting. But I’m enjoying it so much.

And then this morning, I saw a dog get hit by a car. I SAW IT HAPPEN, practically in front of my eyes. The dog passed in front of my car, in front of the next lane, and the next…but when it got to the last lane…BAM! There was no way it could have been avoided, no way the driver of that van could have anticipated a dog would be running across a four lane road on the college campus. I saw it go under the wheels. It was very upsetting.

What else is new? Still working on changing my name everywhere, on credit cards, car insurance, etc, waiting for my new checks to come in. Also looking forward to signing up for NaNo. I’ll be writing more and more about that as the time gets closer.

Russ and I have just started season 2 of Lost, and season 5 of 24. No spoilers, but I will say this…very dramatic, very intense. Especially 24. But then, did you really expect any different?

The weather is starting to get cooler here. Not so much during the middle of the day, but the mornings are definitely cooler. We’re not running the a/c at night any more. I’m looking forward to some fall colors coming in soon, but Russ says since it’s been an extremely dry summer, the colors will not be as good as they would have been otherwise. No matter. Having come from South Florida, ANY autumn leaves will be excitement to me.

I’m seriously thinking about getting my hair cut. I don’t like it at all the way it is, and to get what I want, I think I need to go to someone who knows what they’re doing. Usually I just take a pair of scissors into the bathroom, but I think the time has come to get serious and treat myself to an honest to goodness HAIRCUT.

Well, that’s all for now. I’m off to see if the NaNo site has opened up for registration!
