There is a story behind my name “thathobbitlady.” It’s not *much* of a story, but I’ll tell it.
Mary introduced me to livejournal. Her friend Tracy also has a livejournal. Tracy’s name is “thatpirategirl” since she was kind of obsessed with pirates (still is, as far as I know).
Well, at the time, Lord of the Rings was all the rage, and I was keenly interested in hobbits, quite convinced that if I were a character in Lord of the Rings, I would be a hobbit. And not one of the traveling, adventuring hobbits. I would be a hobbit who does what hobbits are supposed to do: stay home and live a quiet, comfortable life.
I liked the sound of Tracy’s name, thatpirategirl, so I just adopted it for me and became “thathobbitlady.” It’s been several years now, but I still think the name suits me just fine.
