I’m impressed by people who can play the piano with both hands.
I’m impressed by truck drivers who can take sharp turns without jack-knifing.
I’m impressed by Japanese chefs who can juggle food and fling a piece of cooked chicken into a customer’s mouth from six feet away.
What impresses you??
I’m impressed
What impresses me is when a cashier will actually count your change back to you—–backwards ! ” Your bill is $12.75. Change makes it 13, 14, 15, and 5 is the $20 that you gave me.” How often do you see that anymore!
Re: I’m impressed
You’re right! You don’t see that too often anymore. But as I am able to count back change, I don’t find it so impressive when I see other people do it. (Basically, I think I am only impressed by people who can do things that I CAN’T do.)
But on the subject of counting back change…I will say that it absolutely *flabbergasts* me when the power is down at a supermarket or fast food restaurant, and the cashier needs to figure out how much change to give you, and they are completely lost, having no idea whatsoever how to do it. That’s pretty sad, and even a bit scary, to realize that the people whose job it is to handle money are pretty much lost when it comes to simple financial processes like addition and subtraction.
You do.
