UNFORTUNATE EVENTS

We just had an Unfortunate Event of Squee getting sick and having to take him to the vet, which cost $267 (yikes!), and he still does not seem up to par, though I think he is on the right path. We will have to be giving him medicine by an eyedropper in the mouth—and anyone who has ever had a cat knows they do NOT want to be held down and have medicine forced into their mouth. Oh, what fun!

Also, Boogins is being a real bastard and will not even talk to his buddy, he just growls and hisses at him because he brought the smell of the nasty vet place into the house. Not very nice!

Speaking of Unfortunate Events, we saw the movie yesterday, and it was very good, but I still say I was right in thinking no movie could ever be as good as the books. I think anyone who sees the movie will agree with me. Daniel Handler is a genius! But the movie very much captured the MOOD and the FEEL of the books, and they incorporated as much of the language into it as reasonably possible, but still —books better.

By the way, I am seriously on the hunt for THE LITTLEST ELF BOBBLE HEADS to put in the back window of my new car. If anybody finds out if they are available, please let me know!

Yeah…::sobs:: my poor Squee baby…he is going to hate me when he’s better for having to put medicine and water down his throat and bring him to the vet. But atually, the medicine is not all that hard if you know how to do it. I just hope he is better by monday. And hey! Squee is worth the occassional $267 vet trip! He’s family!

    • Yes, Squee is getting better, and I want to commend you, Mary, on what an excellent job you do getting his medicine into him. If anyone has a cat that needs medicine, they should hire you! It’s a gift!
