I took this picture at a restaurant recently, because the message baffled me. Apparently the top part says, in Spanish, that Spanish menus are available upon request. Then the next section repeats that information in English.
Here’s my issue: if you need a Spanish menu, then you already got the message…in Spanish. You don’t need the English equivalent. And if you don’t speak Spanish, then you don’t need to be told, in English, that that they have Spanish menus.
Basically, there is no reason to say “Spanish menus available upon request”….IN ENGLISH.
